Epson EcoTank L8050 Full Specifications:

6-Colour System Including Light Cyan and Light Magenta:

The 6-color dye ink technology distinguishes professional photo printing from color inkjet. Cyan and Magenta alone cannot generate smooth tonal transitions in skin tones, gradients, and soft backgrounds without color banding in standard four-colour printers. Light Cyan and Light Magenta fill the mid-tones between full color and white, creating smooth, continuous gradation like professional photo lab prints. The L8050 uses large-capacity, keyed, drip-free 70ml ink bottles for mess-free refilling, and its integrated front-facing ink tanks let you see all six ink levels at once.

2,100 Photos Per Ink Set:

One set of replacement 70ml ink bottles for the L8050 yields up to 2,100 borderless 10 x 15cm photos. For a Kenyan photo studio, school photography service, ID card producer, or event photographer that prints high volumes regularly, 2,100 prints per ink set represents a dramatically lower cost per photo than any cartridge-based photo printer or outsourced printing lab. The included ink bottles in the box yield approximately 1,500 to 1,900 photos depending on the variant, providing significant immediate printing capacity from day one.

4R Photo in 12 Seconds at 5760 x 1440 dpi

The L8050 prints a borderless 4R (10 x 15cm) photo in approximately 12 seconds on Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper at 5760 x 1440 dpi maximum resolution. At this output rate the printer can produce five photos per minute, or approximately 300 photos per hour during sustained photo printing sessions. For plain paper document printing, the L8050 reaches 22 pages per minute in both black and colour. The 180-nozzle per colour channel printhead places ink with 1.5 picolitre variable-sized droplets that are invisible in the final print, producing smooth, continuous-tone output across the full six-colour gamut.

CD/DVD Printing and PVC ID Card Printing

Like the L8100, the L8050 includes a dedicated disc and ID card tray for two unique printing capabilities. Direct CD/DVD surface printing produces professional disc labels for music, video, software, and archived content on printable blank discs without adhesive labels. PVC plastic ID card printing produces professional ID cards with photos, text, and barcodes in a single print pass, eliminating the need for a dedicated ID card printer for Kenyan schools, organisations, clubs, and businesses that issue ID cards regularly.

Connectivity and Maintenance

The L8050 connects via Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct for wireless printing from smartphones, tablets, and computers. The Epson Smart Panel app provides remote printing, printhead cleaning, ink level monitoring, and maintenance management from iOS and Android. AirPrint enables direct wireless printing from iPhone and iPad without any app. Mopria covers Android printing. The maintenance box and pickup roller on the L8050 are user-replaceable, reducing service downtime and allowing the printer to be maintained independently without returning it to a service centre for routine consumable replacements. The 1-year warranty covers the printer up to 50,000 pages, whichever comes first.
